Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand established Wairaka Land Company (WLC) to implement Unitecs Property Strategy. This strategy, which has informed submissions to the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan (PAUP) process, will support Auckland by creating a new community known as the Wairaka Precinct on Unitecs Mt Albert site. As one of the largest development opportunities in Auckland, the site presents a rare opportunity to create a high quality, dynamic, urban environment and a lasting legacy for Auckland. As well as driving the campus transformation plan, WLC provides advice around urban redevelopment and has significant engagement with stakeholders around changes to the Unitary Plan. WLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unitec and a public benefit entity.
