college history warren community college was established in july 1981 by the new jersey state board of higher education and the warren county board of chosen freeholders. in its earliest years, wccc operated as a “college without walls” and held classes in local high schools. in 1987, the new jersey state board of higher education provided warren with degree-granting authority and a temporary facility was leased. in 1988, warren graduated its first class. in 1992, warren was accredited by the middle states association of colleges and schools. in january 1996, the college moved into its current building on route 57 in washington, nj. in 1997, a four-classroom addition was completed. the college was awarded a ten-year re-accreditation in 1998. warren offers a wide range of certificate, continuing education, and degree programs designed to help students enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year college or university. providing students in warren county and the surrounding areas with a convenient and cost-effective way to further their education and career goals, warren is truly committed to “learning without limits.” for more information on warren community college, visit www.warren.edu or call 908-835-9222.
