Devoting to great concern to education, the founder of Widyatama University ordained the word “widya” and “tama” as one evocative name “WIDYATAMA” - The foremost learning place. VISION: Adaptability Making the University that could produce human resources professionals in their fields and can adjust themselves to the development of science, technology and art in the global environment. MISSION: VALUE CREATION Conducting educational programs, research and community services that support the development and application of science, technology and art. 1. History of Widyatama was started when Bandung Institute of Accounting (IAB) a Bachelor Degree program was established in March 1973 by Dra. Kusbandiyah Abdul Kadir, Ak., a professional accountant, whose all her life as a lecture has been dedicated to education. I Widyatama University itself was established by Ministerial Decree on 2 August 2001. Widyatama University’s next step was devoting all-out, serious and consistent efforts to gain internationally recognized standard of educational services – ISO-9001: 2000. Through collaboration with UNESCO and Ministry of Research and Technology in facing the information society era, Widyatama University has been appointed as the host of Asia Pacific information society communication forum, which is called ROISAP. Furthermore, Widyatama University becomes an active member & hosting 5th SEAAIR Conference in Bali, September 2005. Besides the 5 faculties actually assuring Undergraduate Programs (Economics, Business and Management, Engineering, Language, Visual Communication Design), Widyatama University also offers Graduate Program for Management (MM), and Professional Program for Accounting (PPA).
