Windsor Chapel Funeral Homes began operation on June 1, 1904 as the Francis Janisse Funeral Home on Goyeau Street. The facility relocated to 411 Riverside Drive under the name Albemy Janisse Funeral Home in 1913. Albemy’s son Francis Louis Janisse entered the business in 1938 before moving it to its current location – known today as main – at 1700 Tecumseh Road East in 1971. That year the funeral home served 184 families. Francis was followed in the business by his two sons, Albemy and Jules. When Albemy passed away in 2006, Jules became the sole owner and still serves as president today, and is assisted by his son, Leon, and nephews, Philip and Chris. With a dedicated staff of 45, the organization is now serving over 700 Windsor-area families per year.
