Started in 1991 by four local Christians who took soup, blankets and sleeping bags to the seafront to offer to local homeless people. From this small beginning Worthing Churches Homeless Projects was born. Today we have grown to have 80 staff members and over 300 volunteers and provides a range of services, which offer opportunities to regain independence:- St Clare's Community Hub - open every day of the year, providing hot and cold food, drinks, showers, a change of clothes, washing and drying facilities, medical services, chiropody, hairdressing, advice and support. Byron Road Hostel - allows people to stay for up to 12 weeks and work with staff to begin the task of rebuilding their lives and regaining their independence. Manor Road Project, enables clients to spend up to 9 months brushing up the skills they'll need to live in their own accommodation. The Recovery Project - clients are given an opportunity, with structured supervision, to gain control over their addictions. The Move On Housing supported accomodation - 37 beds across 6 properties. Recovery Houses - provide long term accommodation, relapse prevention and support and access to the staff at the recovery project. (Worthing, Littlehampton & Horsham) Lyndhurst Road - 40 bed Assessment Hostel Littlehampton services - In Littlehampton we run The Breakfast Club for vulnerable people living in challenging circumstances. As well as breakfast, the club provides a much needed lifeline for these clients, enabling us to offer them support and advice.. Also, in Littlehampton we have two recovery houses. Horsham and Mid Sussex Outreach Services working with homeless men and women in our communities. Last year we worked with just over 1700 people. From such humble beginnings, we are now experts in our field. Do get to know us better!
