14 years ago, Xavier Crespo graduated as an architect at the University San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. Before graduation, Xavier practiced as an intern on firms in Ecuador and the United Kingdom assisting on the development of residential and institutional projects in London, Barbados, Berlin, Hannover and Quito. This opportunity to work in different countries encouraged him to pursue a career in that path to later be part of the development of projects in Japan, Germany, Venezuela, Spain, United States and Ecuador, residential and institutional projects, but now as a graduated and registered architect in Ecuador. A Master’s Degree in project Management took him to Canada in 2008, where he worked for EBA Inc. in residential/commercial and institutional projects becoming the second in charge in the firm after the principal. He became a registered architect in Canada; he has completed the requirements to become an AIA member. Xavier was also a faculty member at Camosun College, in the Mechanical Engineering Department, it was a great opportunity to explore and research alternative constructions details and being up to date with the industry. The economic boom in Ecuador and the offer to become a partner at EBA Inc. with the possibility to expand an office to Ecuador brought him back to Ecuador in 2015. In 2015 he founded Xavier Crespo Cilio Arquitectos, which is registered in Ecuador, developing and coordinating several commercial and residential projects in Canada from Ecuador, also working as architects /developers/ contractors on high rise residential, and high end residential projects in Ecuador. The firm is working on institutional work, designing a chapel and multipurpose teaching and gymnastics rooms in Seattle USA and in Guayaquil, Ecuador. In addition, other institutional projects such as an auditorium and the music classrooms wing at the British School Quito. Xavier has set up a team of professionals of different expertise backgrounds including residential, commercial, institutional work, from high-end single-family houses to libraries and airports in order to prepare and participate in various architectural competitions and to be able to satisfy the professional need of our potential clients. The firm’s mission is to demonstrate our capacity as a multi-disciplinary architectural firm, which is able to successfully develop any project regardless of the complexity or size, and deliver them with the international high standards that the firm is use to comply.
