Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS)

The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) is the National Standards body for Zambia. It is a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. The Bureau previously operated under the Standards Act, CAP. 416 of 1994 which came to an end on 31st December 2017 and gave way to the Standards Act No. 4 of 2017 which came into effect on 1st January 2018. Following the restructuring, ZABS is now a friend of industry offering voluntary services aimed at creating opportunities for the growth, advancement and business excellence of the Zambian Industry.
