It was established by the Building Societies Act of 1968 which was amended on 24th December 1970. ZNBS has a network of 21 branches and 15 properties in Zambia and present in Lusaka, Mazabuka, Choma,Livingsone,Chipata,Mongu,Kapiri,Kabwe,Ndola, Kitwe, Chingola, Mufulira,Chililabomwe, Luanshya, Solwezi , Mansa, Kasama and Mpika.ZNBS intends to expand to Muchinga province and Nyimba in Eastern Province.
