Com Logistica no DNA A Armazéns Gerais Murundu S.A. foi fundada em 1958 como unidade armazenadora de café da MMJE em varias localidades significativas no mercado brasileiro de café. Em 1978, Moreira Salles vendeu sua participação na empresa para a tradicional casa comercial londrina E.D. & F. Man, que negociava com commodities agrícolas. Thales de Almeida Martins, filho de Marcellino Martins, dirigiu a empresa nesta nova fase até 1985, esforçando-se por implementar na empresa de café uma estrutura de organização mais profissional que familiar. Em cisão ocorrida em 1994, os Armazéns Gerais Murundu se separaram do grupo Marcellino Martins e continuaram no setor de beneficiamento de café, atendendo vários exportadores na região do município de Serra, no Espírito Santo, adicionando o serviço de armazenagem de bens de terceiros. Nesse mesmo ano, foi criada uma unidade armazenadora para a guarda de documentos no Rio de Janeiro, também prestando serviços de armazenagem. Surgia assim o embrião do que viria a ser a AGM Logística.
