Our goal at Alberta Independent Media is to provide a logical analysis of weekly events, free of the current hate speech and five second sound bites that pervade our society. Founded in November of 2017, we started as a small online blog on social media which focused on Social, Political and Business issues. Our goal was that we wanted to make our society a better place. People responded positively and we expanded rapidly into a full-fledged E-magazine with a daily hit rate of 5000 to 6000 views daily. With writers from across the globe, we provide a worldwide perspective going beyond stereotypes. The Alberta Insurance Council is the industry-funded regulator responsible for administering the province’s insurance laws in respect to insurance agents and adjusters. There are four Insurance Councils, The Alberta Insurance Council, the Insurance Adjusters’ Council, the General Insurance Council and the Life Insurance Council. The Alberta Insurance Council is the financial and governance arm of the councils and it provides investigation and administrative services to the other councils. The Alberta Insurance Council also provides administrative services to the Continuing Education Accreditation Committee appointed by the Minister of Treasury Board and Finance. The Insurance Adjusters’ Council, General Insurance Council and the Life Insurance Council are the regulatory bodies responsible for the licensing and professional discipline of insurance agents and adjusters in the Province of Alberta. The Councils are formed under the Insurance Act and they derive their authority from delegations from the Minister of Treasury Board and Finance. The Alberta Insurance Council and the Ministry of Treasury Board and Finance work together to ensure that consumers are protected and that companies, insurance adjusters and insurance agents operate at the highest standards.
