Extrusion is a process used to create objects with given cross-sectional profiles; the melt is pushed through a nozzle with the required cross sections. The plastic sheets, which are made of polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and polythylene terephthalate glycol (PETG), have a large number of areas of application, including safety products, machine glazing, ice hockey rinks, sound walls, protective barriers (e.g. for COVID-19), suitcases, automotive components, and various construction-related areas of application. Over the course of more than 50 years, Arla Plast has transitioned from being a local operator producing spare parts for cars to becoming an international company which, is one of Europe’s leading players in the extrusion of plastic sheets made of PC.
