The gennem 7 generationer. I sidste halvdel af 1700 tallet blomstrede både handelen og velstanden på Christianshavn. Dette skyldtes ikke kun, at det Asiatiske Kompagni havde til huse her, men derimod også at de mange skibe der bragte varer fra det fjerne Østen, lagde til ved kajen. Kompagniet var dog ikke det eneste, der solgte de hjembragte varer på sine aktioner. Mange andre købmænd etablerede sig i nærheden, og de fik varer fra Kompagniet samt fra de kaptajner der havde dispositionsretten over en del af skibenes last. Blandt de mest ansete af disse købmænd var Jens Bay Perch, som støttet af sin gode ven Niels Brock, startede sin virksomhed på Christianshavn. Hans søn blev opkaldt efter vennen og kom til at hedde Niels Brock Perch, grundlæggeren af det gamle Thehus. Niels Brock Perch´s første butik havde til huse under Børsen, hvor Danmarks første "supermarked"​ så dagens lys. Det var nemlig her, at man for første gang indrettede små butikker side om side under samme tag. I April 1835 åbnede Niels Brock Perch så sin lille butik i Kronprinsensgade 5 , hvor theforretningen stadig har til huse, i samme interiør, der i løbet af de sidste 5 år har undergået en gennemgribende restaurering. Forretningen er udover det elektriske lys og "nyere"​ personale fuldstændig intakt. Slægten Perch fører Thehuset videre helt frem til 1894, hvor familien Hincheldey overtager. Det er i dag 4. generation af slægten Hincheldey, der har den daglige ledelse. A.C. Perchs Thehandel er Kongelig HofIeverandør og har de sidste 100 år været et familiefirma, hvor der ofte har været tre genrationer bag disken. Den personlige kontakt og en seriøs faglig betjening har altid været forretningens højeste mål. A.C. Perch's Thehandel kan i dag glæde sig over at have betjent syv generationer i årene 1835 til 2014.
