Blackpool Sixth is the Fylde Coast’s leading provider of A Levels and BTEC courses for 16-19 year olds. With a choice of over 60 advanced level options, specialist teaching and fantastic facilities, Blackpool Sixth gives all its students the perfect springboard to university and great careers. Blackpool Sixth’s course range is extremely wide with A Levels and BTEC options. Students are able to put together a programme which exactly matches their interests and future ambitions. Summer 2015 saw the completion of a £29 million development to our campus which has created an excellent learning environment for students. In 2011 we were awarded Teaching School status in partnership with Hodgson Academy. The Fylde Coast Teaching School Alliance takes a national and regional lead in both shaping and delivering the training and professional development of current and future generations of teachers. Working with high quality graduates and educational leaders of the future will enable us to maintain and improve our teaching standards to the benefit of all our students.

BlackRock Center for the Arts, the leading venue for the performing and visual arts in Upper Montgomery County, MD, provides the community with the highest level of quality performances, free gallery exhibitions and arts education classes in a welcoming and intimate setting close to home. Now in its 14th season, reaching more than 20,000 people per year, BlackRock presents performances featuring top regional, national and international touring talent from the worlds of pop, jazz, roots, rock, blues, folk, world and classical music, as well as dance and theater for young audiences and families.

Blackrock College was founded in 1860 by Pere Jules Leman CSSp. and his French companions. They had a dual aim to train personnel for missionary service in the Third World and to provide a first class Catholic education for Irish boys. The French tradition of a wide cultural education was developed down the years as the College grew in both numbers and in reputation. New buildings were added over time to meet the increased demand for places and to provide the best possible facilities for students. The Spiritan ethos impels the students to lead their lives with a generosity of spirit that reaches out to those who endure hardship and disadvantage. As a result of this constant striving for excellence which is essential to the Blackrock College ethos, year after year, Blackrock College alumni went on to achieve much and contribute greatly, in very public and in less high-profile ways, to society both in Ireland and abroad. Today, there are over 1000 students both day and boarding (in Williamstown Castle), enjoying excellent facilities located within 56 acres of rolling parkland on the broad sweep of Dublin Bay in South County Dublin. The College motto ‘Fides et Robur’- Faith and Fortitude is very much alive at Blackrock today. The students are educated and very well prepared for the world which awaits them equipping them with ability and skills to emulate the achievements and contributions made by generations of ‘Rockmen’ before them.
