Vi fanger lakselus i larvestadiet før den setter seg på laksen. Systemet installeres på rammefortøyningen på oppdrettsanlegget, og fanger lakselus kontinuerlig i vannmassene. På denne måten reduseres nivået av lakselus på anlegget og påslaget vil bli mindre. Systemet reduserer også reproduksjon og reduserer nivået av lus i området rundt oppdrettsanlegget. En forebyggende reduksjon av lakseluslarver fører til reduserte kostnader i forbindelse med behandlinger og bedre kontroll.
