The Border City Track Club originated in the 1990’s and was formed by the legendary University of Lancer Head Coach Dennis Fairall. The Border City Track Club was forged as an elite track club by coach Fairall. It was home to 1996 Olympic 200m semifinalist O’Brian Gibbons and Decathlete Mike Nolan who placed 10th in the 2001 IAAF World Championships in athletics. In 2013, the club was rebranded by Head Coach Kurt Downes as the “Border City Athletics Club”. The current BCAC splits time residing at the Dennis Fairall Field house in the winter and Sandwich Secondary high school in the summer. Windsor Essex county is home to numerous CIS National Indoor Championships and Ofsaa High School track and field Champions. While Alumni Field Stadium and Sandwich Secondary High School has played host to the Ofsaa track and field Championships, the 2005 Pan American Junior Championships, the 2007 Canadian Senior Outdoor Championships and the 2008 Canadian Olympic Trials. •Athletes aged 10-professional levels in the sprints, middle distance, jumps and hurdles disciplines •Club activities include hosting meets, fund raising, media relations, facility maintenance, parent/public relations, travel budgeting, travel arrangements, sponsorships and wellness •Partnerships include Infinit Nutrition, Running Count, University of Windsor Kinesiology, Radovich Chiropractic, GECDSB, WECDSB, PhysioFit, Brannigan Physiotherapy, Loaring Physiotherapy and Evolutions Institute for Soma Instruction
