We are a team with big ideas and a desire to make a huge contribution to the elearning industry. As elearning designers we love our work, but had reached the point of frustration around the collection and deciphering of feedback for our courses. Those of you, who like us go through this process every day, can easily imagine the many somewhat daunting ways in which feedback is conveyed today… phone calls, email chains, excel sheets, scribbled notes, we could go on forever! The pain, time, and effort involved in collecting, collating, interpreting, and deciphering all that feedback, especially when coming from numerous sources, can make the most committed individual exhausted! Talking to many colleague on how they dealt with this unavoidable step of the process we found similar complaints and no real effective solution. However, everyone agreed that colleague and client input was a vital step to ensure that the final product truly met its objectives and received the tick of approval! In this love hate relationship with this step of the elearning creation cycle, the idea of Briefboards was born. Briefboards emerged out of real, concrete need. The lack of availability in our elearning market and in our industry of a simple, fast and reliable tool to review online design. We struggled with this for many years and decided there had to be a better way. We wanted to simply be able to publish a course, and while navigating through it, click on a slide and leave a comment. With this vision in mind, we embarked on an exercise to build an application that could do just that. After creating a simple version of a review board and using it for some months with our clients, we were amazed at how it changed our lives. So we began thinking… why not develop a little bit further and open it up to our elearning community to help others in their work? This is where our story begins…
