An independently owned brewpub located in Maleny. Born out of necessity and raised in the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. Brouhaha Brewery and Restaurant adopts the principles of its hometown, Maleny. Embracing community, a slower pace and fresh local produce and applying it to how we brew our craft beer and create our seasonal menu. Brouwerij Leeghwater is een start-up gevestigd in de De Rijp: dé geboorteplaats van Jan Adriaenszoon Leeghwater. De man Leeghwater was in de 16e eeuw verantwoordelijk voor de droogmaking van de Noord-Hollandse meren: Beemster, Purmer, Heerhugowaard, Wormer, Schermer en Starnmeer. Hierdoor is het 'Land van Leeghwater'​ ontstaan: het polderlandschap tussen Alkmaar, Purmerend, Haarlem en Amsterdam in. Het was 2012 toen Hans, onze hoofdbrouwer, besloot bier te gaan brouwen. Lokaal bier met veel hop, geïnspireerd op de omgeving waarin hij zelf zijn eigen biertje dronk. Speciaalbier met een eigenwijs karakter, gebrouwen in het Land van Leeghwater. Dat begon zoals bij veel hobby’s wat amateuristisch; elke gitarist herinnert zich de blaren van het eindeloze oefenen, iedere profvoetballer schopte in het begin over de bal. Hans klungelde wat aan met een grote pan op het vuur, en een houten roerspaan in zijn hand. Heel wat biertjes later begonnen de recepten zich te ontwikkelen. De uitersten in het brouwproces konden worden opgezocht en de brouwinstallatie telkens verbeterd. De dromen werden reëler, de vaten groter. Een vriendengroep opgegroeid in het Land van Leeghwater werd een hecht ondernemersteam dat inspiratie haalde uit het Land van Leeghwater: het gebied, de techniek, de natuur en natuurlijk het water. Een team dat hun krachten bundelde voor één gemeenschappelijk doel: dat water in bier doen veranderen. In de zomer van 2017 werd Brouwerij Leeghwater officieel een B.V. Er kwamen samenwerkingen tot stand met brouwerijen die meer brouwcapaciteit hadden. Daar worden onze recepten op dit moment op grote schaal gebrouwen. Brouwerij Leeghwater brengt bieren uit die met aandacht en een flinke dosis eigenzinnigheid en visie zijn gebrouwen. Bier uit het Land van Leeghwater. En dat water is nog lang niet op.
