Who We are: Battlecry is a Fantasy Medieval Live Action Battle Game which allows players to engage in real combat with reinforced foam weapons and padded arrows. We are located in Rockdale, Sydney and will be operating on Friday Nights beginning late January 2018. What We Do and Why: Video Game addition has become a serious issue in today's society, with many studies being released around the world which show it's detrimental effect on the lives of those addicted as well as countries as a whole, from people being unable to maintain relationships, being unable to balance work or correctly prioritize commitments, spending beyond their means and sacrificing their health etc. It's also an industry entirely unregulated, meaning they advertise direct to and groom children to play, conditioning them to take the addiction into later life. This trend is dangerous, so we decided our cause. We seek to help those who are involved with this as well as connecting them with those who aren't 'gamers'​ to help rebuild the community into something better. To 'reconnect'​ them. These events are a fun, physical activity that appeals to gamers, but also attract a large group of people who are not into video games and want to try something fun and different. We allow people to get their regular gaming-type content, with added physical activity, social interaction, and kinship. At the same time, we are working on Female empowerment within the community, we have connected with a few femme power coaches to give women a chance to be involved at a 50/50 participation level (that's our goal). When you couple this initiative with the fact we will get into corporate health activities to increase workplace morale, and an entire business on costumes, Armour and handmade items, we are going to be busy bees in 2018!
