BAHEP is a member-driven organization that provides the leadership to stimulate regional economic development and employment. Utilizing a collaborative committee structure, we engage more than 270 investor companies, business professionals, local governments, and educational institutions in southeast Texas to bring about prosperity and a high quality of life for the 800,000 people who live and work in the region. Our members include business partners encompassing 13 cities and Galveston and Harris counties. We market the Bay Area Houston to new businesses, expansions, and relocations to create new employment.

We provide protection, care and shelter for unwanted and homeless pets. Last year alone we saw over 5,000 animals come through our doors. Not only do we provide these animals with a second chance at finding their forever homes, we also provide low-cost vaccination clinics, low-cost spay & neuter services, and children's education programs. We are a private, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other agency. The Bay Area Humane Society receives no government funding and is supported solely by contributions, grants, bequests, proceeds from our retail store, and the fees from services rendered.
