The Faculty is organized in 31 departments and eight Institutes. En junio de 2013, se crea Belgrano Cargas y Logística SA (BCYLSA) con el fin de nuclear en una misma empresa las tres líneas de transporte de cargas más importantes del país: la Línea Belgrano, la Línea San Martín y la Línea Urquiza. En 2016, y con el propósito de darle una impronta federal, la empresa comienza a llamarse Trenes Argentinos Carga. La línea Belgrano debe su nombre al Ferrocarril General Manuel Belgrano formalmente inaugurado en el año 1876. A lo largo de sus primeras cinco décadas de funcionamiento, la red que lo constituía se convirtió en una de las principales del País y del continente, gracias a su gran influencia en el NOA y en los países limítrofes, brindando en su tiempo las únicas conexiones ferroviarias de carga con Chile y Bolivia. La línea San Martín, en lo que hace a su condición carguera, comenzó a desarrollarse en la primera mitad del siglo XX como Ferrocarril Buenos Aires al Pacífico, de capitales británicos. En 1948, cuando se concretó la nacionalización ferroviaria, fue rebautizado con el nombre del prócer nacional como Ferrocarril General San Martín. En cuanto a la línea Urquiza, su origen era múltiple. En ella confluyeron distintos ramales mesopotámicos que habían adoptado la trocha de 1,435 metros, llamada "universal"​ por ser la que predominaba en la región y en los países limítrofes. Esta línea también fue rebautizada con la nacionalización, en 1948, como Ferrocarril Nacional General Urquiza. La red atraviesa 17 provincias : Salta, Jujuy, Chaco, Santiago del Estero, Formosa, Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Misiones, San Juan, San Luis, Córdoba, La Rioja, Tucumán, Santa Fe, Catamarca, Mendoza, Buenos Aires y llega hasta la terminal de Retiro, en la Ciudad autónoma de Buenos Aires.
