The Cerebral Palsy Association of British Columbia was started in 1954 by a group of parents who wanted to assist their children living with cerebral palsy to reach their maximum potential within society. Today we are an independent charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We provide support, education, and information throughout BC. Our mission is: • To raise awareness of cerebral palsy in the community; • To assist those living with cerebral palsy to reach their maximum potential; and • To work to see those living with cerebral palsy realize their place as equals in a diverse society. As an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy, an international research organization, we support those with CP live a life without limits. ADVOCACY & PUBLIC POLICY Cerebral Palsy Foundation is a strong and powerful voice for the 17,000,000 people around the world with cerebral palsy and their families. We have a global commitment to increasing awareness and support for cerebral palsy research and investment. Our US Advocacy-led efforts currently focus on increasing federal investment supporting cerebral palsy research initiatives at the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Cerebral Palsy research is vastly underfunded despite the number of people impacted. We work year-round with key lawmakers, policy makers, government agencies and other stakeholders to educate and draft language.

Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County partners with communities throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley to empower people with disabilities to achieve their highest potential by providing innovative community, educational and residential services. Originally founded as the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Ulster County in 1951 by a local pediatrician, Dr. Henry Bibby, and Rabbi Herbert Bloom, and a group of dedicated supporters, the organization remains dedicated to ensuring that persons with disabilities lead full and rich lives. Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County is committed to providing a wide variety of services to meet the individualized needs of children and adults with disabilities throughout the Hudson Valley Region including the following counties: Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester. Although originally founded to serve children with cerebral palsy, we now serve hundreds of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities each day. With a dedicated staff of over 250 individuals, we provide services to those persons who have developmental or acquired disabilities to help them achieve increased independence and maximize their potential.
