Children's Museum Tucson is a great place for children and their families to play and learn together. We succeeded in winning a constitutional referendum on children’s rights. We are proud of that achievement but we still have a long way to go in this country. Still in Ireland today: • 1 in every 5 children is still at risk of poverty • There are over 40,000 child protection referrals per year • 1 in 10 children experience serious mental health difficulties Behind the headline statistics are children and young people who are left behind, in situations of neglect and abuse or who are simply ignored. Children are especially vulnerable because they depend on others to care for them, to listen to them and to speak on their behalf. We are a therapy clinic specializing in the treatment of children with Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavioral and Social Difficulties, Developmental Delay, and Feeding and Eating concerns. In addition to serving children with identified needs, we also help families and community providers support children who may just be struggling to successfully get through their day. We believe that children are best supported in the context of their family and community. This belief is reflected in our therapeutic and training sessions. When children come to us, more often than not we invite the parents and/or siblings into the therapy sessions with us. We work to balance therapeutic intervention aimed at the child with training and support for the families. We feel that by developing close, trusting relationships, not only with the children that we serve, but also with the parents and caregivers, we are able to effect more change in our therapeutic intervention. Our goal is that the family is able to leave our relationship with a greater understand of their child and the tools and advocacy skills to support their child.

CTN supports over 33,000 kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs. Through 159,000+ service visits per year, we provide intake, service navigation and coordinated service planning, assessment and diagnostic services, specialized clinics and rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy. Our support reaches children and youth in their homes, communities and schools, from birth up until their 19th birthday (or until completion of high school) through our network model of service delivery. Through the collective efforts of community partners, we provide and enhance services, champion system change and build capacity primarily in York Region and Simcoe County, as well as Central and West Toronto, Dufferin, Halton, Peel, Waterloo and Wellington. We also support families by connecting them with other community agencies who provide additional resources and programs outside of our partnerships. Our network model engages families at all levels within the organization, allowing us to provide coordinated services. CTN and the services provided by our network partners are funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and are free for families. However, there may be costs associated with provision of special equipment, materials or supplies needed by some children.
