Cittalia – Fondazione ANCI Ricerche is the research foundation of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI). Its mission is to support Italian cities and municipalities through the challenges created by transformations in society and economy. Cittalia is: - A centre of analysis, a cross-sector viewpoint and a cultural institution which participates in the political-institutional debate on public policy by proposing themes for reflection, defining scenarios and encouraging the preparation of projects for reform and innovation. Cittalia is a point of reference for Italian Cities and local authorities, promotes their role and supports their work by fostering the development of public urban policies in a European framework. Activities concentrate on: Producing and spreading a new culture of the "city" Undertaking interdisciplinary research and medium to long-term analysis Producing and spreading competitive knowledge Establishing a network of city experts; Providing a centre of documentation on urban policy-making themes. These activities are carried out through a series of products and services: Analysis. Interdisciplinary research focused on various topics concerning cities, carried out by academic and institutional experts. Proposals. Suggestions for policy-makers and innovative tools related to specific themes that ANCI champions within the municipal sphere. Papers. Studies that summarise knowledge, generate reflection and identify possible models of intervention Surveys. Collection and analysis of relevant data; Knowledge-development. A network aimed at developing the managerial skills of executives working in local government; Dossiers. Collection of the latest documentation, regulations, analysis and publications; Viewpoints. Multi-subject debates in the form of seminars and conferences aimed at feeding into and promoting the process of innovation within urban issues.
