Formed in December 2013, California Earth Transport, Inc. is a new kind of trucking company. Owned by Robin Hartnett and Anita Adriano, this company has been created to service the needs of the industry in a time of great transition. Not only is Cal Earth solving the challenges of CARB Compliance, but it has a goal of providing an honest company where owner operators can work and be treated fairly, and customers can feel confident they are getting an honest deal. Cal Earth is focused on bringing a level of engineering to the trucking industry to provide a price that the customer can rely on. Asking the right questions and understanding the constraints of the project in order to anticipate cost impacts from such items as night haul premium, shortened work hours, high moisture content, oversize rock or debris, engineering properties, or contaminants can be addressed during the bidding process. The California Efficiency + Demand Management Council (the Council) is a statewide trade association of non-utility companies that provide efficiency, demand response and data analytics products and services in California. CE&P intends to develop, finance, install, own and operate sugarcane-to-ethanol-and-electricity plants worldwide, starting with state-of-the-art facilities in California's Imperial Valley, one of the best places in the world to grow sugarcane. CE&P is responding to the increasing market demand for renewable fuels and green power while avoiding the economic and political issues associated with corn-based ethanol production. CE&P's sugarcane-based ethanol has substantial economic, political and environmental advantages, including lower feedstock cost, higher co-product value, location advantages and premium ethanol prices. Importantly, CE&P's facilities will use much less water, produce more than 13 times as much energy per unit of fossil energy used and emits over 95% fewer greenhouse gas reductions on a full fuel cycle analysis basis than gasoline. CE&P is already growing sugarcane in California's Imperial Valley.
