The main campus is located in a wooded area of 163 acres (0.66 km2), with several ponds and a lake, in the north-central part of Clayton County in suburban south metro Atlanta. The Downs Center is also a venue for conferences and special events. The institution was founded in 1969 and was originally known as Clayton Junior College. When the school became a four-year institution in 1986, the institute took on the name Clayton State College. In 1996, the Georgia Board of Regents renamed many higher-ed institutions, with Clayton State becoming Clayton College & State University. In 2005, the name was changed to Clayton State University. In 2004, the go ahead for developing a masters program was given by the Board of Regents. CLC is een christelijke boekwinkel en webshop (www.clcnederland.com). Wij steunen met onze winkel zending in 58 landen, o.a. door het verspreiden van boeken in andere CLC boekwinkels. Wij ondersteunen het werk van CLC wereldwijd met kennis en financiën en genieten daarvoor de anbistatus. Bijv.: het team in Sofia (Bulgarije) wordt vanuit Nederland maandelijks ondersteund. Dit werk is in 1993 gestart, en korte tijd later werd het zakendoen door inflatie praktisch onmogelijk. Toch is het bijna de enige christelijke boekhandel op een bevolking van ruim 7 miljoen; daarom is het belangrijk om deze winkel te laten bestaan. Door middel van hun website reikt de kracht van het geschreven woord zelfs verder dan de landsgrenzen. CLC wil dienstbaar zijn aan de lokale christelijke gemeenschap. Wij verzorgen graag boekentafels voor speciale evenementen en conferenties.
