The Colorado Haiti Project has been working with community leaders in the rural town of Petit Trou de Nippes for over 30 years, supporting community-driven programs in education, community health, water and hygiene, girls and womens empowerment, and agriculture. We provide resources to Haitian leaders, building bridges from the U.S. to Haiti that provide vital support for local vision and leadership. Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) finances the places people live and work. Created in 1973 by the Colorado General Assembly, CHFA strengthens communities by making loans to low-and moderate-income homebuyers, affordable multifamily rental housing developers, and small and medium sized businesses. CHFA also provides education and technical assistance about affordable housing and economic development. CHFA is a self-sustaining public enterprise funded by issuing bonds. The Colorado Judicial Branch works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. Our courts and probation offices are committed to impartial and timely dispute resolution, support for families, litigants and victims, client rehabilitation and meaningful community engagement. Colorado's State Court System Appellate Courts The Colorado Supreme Court is the court of last resort in Colorado's state court system. The court generally hears appeals from the Court of Appeals, although in some instances individuals can petition the Supreme Court directly regarding a lower court's decision. The Colorado Court of Appeals is usually the first court of appeals for decisions from the district courts, Denver Probate Court and Denver Juvenile Court. The Court of Appeals also reviews decisions of several state administrative agencies. Its determination of an appeal is final unless the Colorado Supreme Court agrees to review the matter. Trial Courts District Courts hear civil cases in any amount, as well as domestic relations, criminal, juvenile, probate, and mental health cases. District court decisions may be appealed to the Colorado Court of Appeals (in some cases directly to the Colorado Supreme Court). County Courts handle civil cases under $15,000, misdemeanors, traffic infractions, felony complaints (which may be sent to district court), protection orders, and small claims. County court decisions may be appealed to the district court. Water Courts have exclusive jurisdiction over cases relating to the determination of water rights, use and administration of water, and all other water matters. There are seven water courts, one in each of the major river basins in Colorado.

Founded in 1979, the Colorado Judicial Institute's mission is to preserve and enhance the fairness, impartiality and excellence of Colorado's Courts, to further public understanding of the Colorado judicial system, and to ensure that the courts meet the needs of the people.

The Colorado Juvenile Defender Center (CJDC) is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ensuring excellence in juvenile defense and advocacy and justice for all children and youth in Colorado. CJDC believes all children and youth should experience adolescence free from over-criminalization in a just society that promotes their well-being and provides second chances. CJDC seeks to protect the rights and improve the treatment of children and youth in the juvenile justice system through its three centers. The Policy Center advocates for systemic reforms that decriminalize adolescence. The Defender Center trains attorneys to provide specialized and skilled representation to youth. The Resource Center provides direct legal and employment services to help youth stay in school, find employment, and pursue a successful future.
