Community Action of Orleans & Genesee is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and has served low-income and disadvantaged families for 60 years. Community Action programs are designed to empower as well as provide opportunity to those who are not yet self-sufficient. Programs like Head Start work on long-term goals by educating children and short-term goals by working with parents in a variety of areas like education, housing and nutrition. Many programs use short and long-term benefits (e.g., HEAP Application Assistance and Weatherization Services), referrals (Emergency Services) or education (Employment Training programs) to help people achieve self-sufficiency.

The Community Action Agency (a partnership) is a nonprofit agency established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty. DCCAA helps people to help themselves in achieving self-sufficiency. The Community Action Partnership was established in 1971 as the National Association of Community Action Agencies (NACAA) and is the national organization representing the interests of the 1,000 Community Action Agencies (CAA's) working to fight poverty at the local level.

The Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County champions the achievement of long-term self-sufficiency for individuals and families through services and advocacy targeting the elimination of poverty. Each year CAP reaches nearly 30,000 low-income families through services that support child development & education, health & nutrition, household stability, and public safety & violence prevention to help them not only meet their essential daily needs but to work toward long-term financial self-sufficiency.

Community Action Partnership of Providence County (CAPP) was established in November 2012. CAPP is a leading provider of social services in Providence County. The organization operates, promotes and supports the development of human service programs aimed at improving the lives of low-to-moderate income individuals and families living in Providence County. CAPP works to minimize poverty while empowering members of the community to be self-sufficient.

Community Action Partnership of Strafford County is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization established in 1965 under the provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act of 1964. We work with community, state and federal partners to assist children, families, low-income and elderly residents with their efforts to become or remain financially and socially independent through a variety of coordinated programs. Without the services provided by our agency, many local residents would be without a means to provide for their basic needs, including food, education, child care, utilities assistance, transportation, shelter and access to other services.

Helping People, Changing Lives Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska is a Community Action Partnership and member of a national network of over 1,000 community action agencies across America. We are a non-profit community based health and human services organization that serves low-income, disadvantaged, and those unable to meet their needs through other sources. The agency was established in 1965 and provides services to over 9,000 individuals, children and families in three main program areas: Community Health Services Clinical Health Services Supportive Health Services As a Community Action Partnership our vision is to create communities where everyone has an opportunity for a successful life. Our mission is to strengthen people and communities to help themselves and improve lives. While some programs serve a wider area, the main service area is the southern panhandle area of Nebraska. The agencies programs impact hundreds of lives daily through their dedicated work. Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraskas home office and community health center are located in Gering. The agency holds a 501(C) (3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community leaders, low-income representatives and elected officials.
