CommUNITY Barnet

nonprofit organization management

CommUNITY Barnet is an award-winning national charity based in London. Currently delivering services at a regional level we have an aspiration to grow bigger by leading innovative partnerships, harnessing the creativity of residents and supporting community organisations building on our 40 years of success, experience and track record of delivery. We are the umbrella organisation for the local voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Barnet, established in 1979, we have been supporting and building capacity to voluntary and community groups, charities and faith groups across the borough. Promoting partnership and consortium working to ensure Barnet has a thriving and sustainable sector. No one organisation can solve society’s challenges but collectively the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector is powerful when it comes together with other sector organisations. We strongly believe volunteering is the heart of civil society and nurturing social action through different partnerships is vital for sustaining society in times of challenge and change. The third sector can provide community cohesion by bringing together residents, communities and organisations to form creative solutions to improve the wellbeing of local communities and help sustain a society in times of continued austerity.

community baseball association of atlantic county

nonprofit organization management

Founded in 2005, Pitch In For Baseball® is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides new and gently used baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the U.S. and around the world who want to play ball but lack the equipment to do so. Since our founding, PIFB has donated over $7 million worth of equipment to nearly 600,000 kids in every state and over 90 countries. For the past 11 years, PIFB has been reducing barriers to play by providing equipment grants to leagues, schools, and organizations around the world to start, continue, and/or expand their youth baseball/softball programs; supporting disaster relief efforts; and fostering a culture of philanthropy. -School Based Program: Launched in 2008, PIFB has grown our School Based Program from 1 site to 11 in 2017. Baseball/softball can be effective tools for deepening engagement in school, improving attendance, and increasing academic performance. - Domestic and International Grants: PIFB makes equipment grants directly to leagues, schools, and organizations worldwide. Strategic partnerships help us reach the most under-resourced communities. - Disaster Relief: In times of tragedy, children are the most affected. Baseball/softball can restore a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos. PIFB has assisted in NY/NJ following Hurricane Sandy; Joplin, MO; Gulf Coast Region; Houston, TX; West Virginia, and Japan - Youth Philanthropy: About 70% of the equipment PIFB distributes comes from the efforts of motivated, caring kids who run collections/fundraisers on our behalf. Our reputation for getting equipment to children who need it and promoting youth philanthropy has resulted in impressive partnerships and Board representation from entities such as Little League International, Major League Baseball [including 6 clubs: Yankees, Twins, Reds, Dodgers, Phillies, and Braves], USA Baseball, Wilson Sporting Goods, MLBs RBI Program, State Farm, Mattingly Charities and ESPN.

community based care of central florida

nonprofit organization management

CBC of Central Florida is a non-profit agency charged with developing community-based services and supports for children and families served by the child welfare system in Central Florida. A core value is the belief that all children have the inalienable right to grow up safe, healthy and fulfilled in families that love and nurture them. We have been committed to serving the children and families of Central Florida who have been victims of, or at risk of, abuse, neglect or abandonment since 2004. Community Based Care is Florida's child welfare initiative that transfers public child welfare services to the private sector. In response to this initiative, a group of local providers came together to develop a community-based "lead agency" that combines compassion and innovation with flexibility. The result is CBC of Central Florida. Our ongoing goal includes providing the necessary services to the more than 3,000 children we serve by strengthening the relationships between our families, foster parents, case management team and network of local service providers who deliver a multitude of direct services to children.
