Founded in August of 1982, Community Emergency Medical Service is the oldest licensed EMS system in Oakland County. We currently employ nearly 2,000 employees among our organizations and we are the largest private not-for-profit EMS provider in South Eastern Michigan. Over the last few years, CEMS has seen growth in volume through improved performance monitoring and reporting which is shared with our clients and employees. Our growth is due to our entrepreneurial spirit and vision which is responsible for our unique JV model that has proven successful with 10 health system partners. Recently Community EMS of Michigan has developed a community partnership with Kettering Health Network of Ohio, and is proudly providing EMS services in the Dayton area. Community Farmers Markets (CFM) is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that provides access to locally-grown foods through a unique, four-pronged approach: 1. Distribution of locally-grown food at farmers markets and through alternative distribution models; 2. Education about locally-grown food through outreach programming; 3. Financial incentives through the SNAP matching program; and 4. Our vendor support program. CFM is the largest farmers market organization in the Southeast. Our mission is to develop a local food infrastructure for long term sustainability and meaningful community impact.
