We know that low-income families face many challenges and we believe that one of the first steps to moving forward is working to create a more stable and sustainable home environment. Often that starts with addressing critical repairs that a homeowner is not able to afford. But at Community Homeworks we are committed to connecting homeowners to resources and opportunities to make more lasting change. Our Mission Empowering our low-income neighbors to maintain safe, sustainable, and dignified homes. Founded in 2009 with the goal of closing the gaps in post-purchase support for low income homeowners in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, Community Homeworks programs are designed to help keep people in their homes and develop homeowner self-sufficiency while ensuring that their homes are safe, decent and sustainable. Our programs provide a comprehensive package of solutions for making housing affordable, comfortable, and secure. Programs include critical home repairs, education workshops on home maintenance and repairs, and weatherization & energy efficiency. Community Hospital of Huntington Park is a hospital & health care company based out of United States.

The Community House is a unique non-profit on the North Shore that offers opportunities for enrichment in education, fitness, and the arts to people of all ages. We also rent out spaces in our beautiful 103,000 sq ft building for events from weddings to business meetings. Additionally, we house five other non-profits in our building. The Winnetka Community House is funded solely on the generous donations of the community as we receive no tax payer dollars.

CHIP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community development corporation. We develop for-sale affordable housing using the mutual self-help method. We also develop and manage affordable rental housing throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley, and provide resident services such as after school programs, nutrition education, computer labs and community gardens.

The Community Housing Industry Association is the new national advocate for the community housing industry and Australians who struggle to put a roof over their heads.

Community Housing Industry Association NSW (CHIA NSW) is the peak industry group for community housing in NSW. We represent our members managing over 54,000 properties – the largest community housing industry sector in Australia. CHIA NSW also has Associate members representing individuals and organisations with an interest in community housing. CHIA NSW works to build a sustainable and flourishing industry able to deliver the best outcomes for the tenants and communities it works with. We also advocate with local, state and federal governments for more social and affordable housing for people on lower incomes in NSW. CHIA NSW is affiliated to the Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA), the national peak body that represents the industry in Australia, and we work with community housing peak bodies in other jurisdictions to collectively support the industry to grow and operate effectively. ------ CHIA NSW delivers a range of resources to help providers develop their services including research reports, toolkits, guides and workshops. CHIA NSW has also developed the first social housing benchmarking service in Australia – House Keys – allowing community housing providers to see how they are performing against their peers. CHIA NSW is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering accredited training through the Centre for Training in Social Housing. We provide regular information, updates and briefings for members on the latest developments that affect the industry. We acknowledge the Gadigal People as the traditional owners of the land on which CHIA NSW is located.

The Community Housing Industry Association of SA (CHIA SA) is the peak industry body representing South Australia’s Community Housing Providers (CHPs). We are driven to support our members – CHPs in SA who are organisations that own or manage affordable housing for South Australians in rental stress or facing entry barriers into the private housing market. As a member-driven community organisation, it is CHIA SA’s role to support and promote the development and provision of community housing in SA and represent the needs and best interests of the community housing industry in engaging with governments, public and private organisations, and the broader community. To do this, CHIA SA: Provides support services to members including professional development activities, advice and referral, and advocacy, Facilitates communication, information transfer, support, and co-ordination across the community housing industry, Contributes to affordable housing policy development, and Provides information, analysis, and advice on housing and other relevant government policy. CHIA SA enables and resources central forums, and committees, as well as Board of Directors meetings each month for CHPs in South Australia. CHIA SA is funded by the State Government and is governed by a Board of Directors that include leaders from member agencies. Membership is open to SA-based CHPs registered under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing (NRSCH) across all registration tiers. Associate Membership for individuals or other interested organisations is also available.

CHIA Vic advocates for a fairer housing system that meets the needs of all Victorians. As the peak body for the not-for-profit community housing sector, we believe everyone should have an appropriate, secure and affordable home.
