Community Living Services (CLS) is a not-for-profit organization promoting inclusion, full citizenship, and a self-determined life for people with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. CLS provides supports and services to nearly 5,000 children and adults throughout six counties – Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Kent, Ottawa, and Barry – in Michigan. The Community Living Society (CLS) believes that all people have the ability and the right to fully participate in, and contribute to, their communities. To that end, CLS has committed itself to working with individuals with disability and their families to design the type and amount of support needed to help them increase their independence and realize their dreams. The CLS supports are intended to complement – not replace – the natural supports provided by family, friends and the community. Our CLS support team acts as a bridge for people with disability to make new friends, learn the skills needed to get meaningful work, live more independently and achieve personal goals. Founded in the late 1970s by family members of children with disability, the CLS combines the values, leadership and advocacy of our past, with innovative and individual approaches to providing residential and community inclusion support services.

Community Living Wallaceburg is a progressive association that enables people to realize their full potential and choices lifestyle within inclusive communities. The agency provides a full range of accommodation, community and employment supports to more than 350 individuals and their families throughout Chatham-Kent.

Using the limited resources of the time, these families strove to start their own school and develop services for their sons and daughters ensuring they would have the best quality of life. This founding spirit carries on with the efforts of today’s courageous parents who continue to defy the status quo in seeking the best possible quality of life for their children.
