Copper Mountain College (CMC) is the smallest California community college and the only physical campus serving the Joshua Tree Gateway Communities. With a student body of 2,000, the fully accredited college offers 28 Transfer Degrees (including 16 Associate Degrees for Transfer – CSU); 7 Non-Transfer Degrees; 7 Certificates of Proficiency and 16 Certificates of Achievement. The Copper Mountain mine produces over 90 million pounds of copper equivalent per year with a large resource that remains open laterally and at depth. Copper Queen Community Hospital is a rural acute care critical access hospital that has been providing convenient, affordable health care to the area it serves for over 125 years. Our mission to maintain and support access to basic primary healthcare throughout southeastern Cochise County by providing leadership and vision to address opportunities and challenges. Located in Bisbee, CQCH is a not-for-profit, full-service community health care facility. CQCH is the second largest employer in Cochise County with 165 full-time equivalent employees. The local medical staff includes 30 physicians: 17 fully active physicians and 13 consultants. CQCH also operates three Rural Health Clinics via Copper Queen Medical Associates, located in Bisbee, Douglas and Palominas-Hereford. The hospital provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care; outpatient surgery; 24-hour emergency services; cardio-pulmonary services; rehabilitation services; home health care; an occupational medicine department; a full-service laboratory; diagnostic imaging and tele-medicine. CQCH serves more than 25,000 patients, many of whom are unemployed, have low family incomes, and are uninsured or underinsured.
