The Council for Medical Schemes is a statutory body established by the Medical Schemes Act (131 of 1998) to regulate private health financing through medical schemes. The governance of the Council is vested in a board appointed by the Minister of Health, consisting of a Non-executive Chairman, a Deputy Chairman and 13 members. The Executive Head of the Council is the Registrar, also appointed by the Minister regarding the Medical Schemes Act. The Council determines overall policy, but day-to-day decisions and management of staff are the responsibility of the Registrar and the Executive Managers.
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the foremost national science and technology institution in Ghana. It is mandated to carry out scientific and technological research for national development. The Council was established in its present form by NLC Decree 293 of 10th October, 1968 and re-established by CSIR Act 521 of 26th November, 1996. The Council, however, traces its ancestry to the erstwhile National Research Council (NRC), which was established by the Research Act 21 of August, 1958, a little over a year after independence, to organize and co-ordinate scientific research in Ghana and provide the necessary platform for Ghana’s accelerated development.

The CCA is a not-for-profit organization that undertakes independent, evidence-based expert panel assessments to inform public policy development in Canada. The CCA was founded by three independent organizations that represent some of the finest minds in Canada the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Their Fellows and senior decision-makers sit on CCA's Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Committee, and they are a key source of membership for expert panels.
