Em 1960, nasce uma empresa de mineração no Ceará, cujos fundadores, Luciano Héber Quinderé e seus irmãos, a denominaram de Quinderé Mineração e Indústria S.A. Com o propósito de explorar as diversas fontes de recursos minerais no estado do Ceará. Em 1973, sob a presidência de D. Maria de Lourdes da Silveira Quinderé, passa a denominação de Carbomil S.A. Mineração e Indústria. O grupo Carbomil é leal à sua missão de fornecer matéria-prima de alta qualidade aos seus clientes, buscando sempre desenvolver tecnologia de ponta, modernizando e criando novos produtos, frutos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento de seus laboratórios. A pesquisa mineral, através de seu departamento de geologia, conta com equipe de profissionais capacitada, responsável por grandes descobertas de vários minerais e ampliação de reservas de calcários, calcítico e dolomítico, magnesita, talco, barita, quartzo e, entre os metálicos, hematita e manganês. Todas as reservas já foram dimensionadas e legalizadas juntos ao DNPM (Departamento Nacional de Produção Mineral). Em 1987, a Carbomil criou uma nova empresa de eletro-aço, chamada Libra Ligas do Brasil, na qual foi criada para produzir Ferrosilicon 75%, formada pela mistura de 2 minerais, quartzo e hematita (minério de ferro) em um forno a arco submerso. Atualmente, a Libra também produz ferro ligas e inoculantes e está constantemente expandindo seus mercados, tanto nacional como internacionalmente, no segmento de matérias-primas para indústrias, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento e crescimento regional.

Fundada em 2015, a CARBON é a maior empresa de blindagem de veículos civis do mundo.
