Caroline Chisholm Society is a not-for-profit welfare organization supporting expectant and new mothers raise their very young children. The Society is made up of members, over 20 staff and over 120 volunteers, and prides itself on its support for 1000-2000 clients per year (depending on funding).

Caroline County is a "Code Home Rule"​ county where the three-Commissioner governing has broad authority to pass local laws. The Commissioners work in partnership with the County's ten incorporated municipalities to advocate on behalf of local residents and businesses.
