The Center for Economic Progress (CEP) helps low-income, working families as a trusted provider of tax and financial services. Everything we do, from direct service to informing public policy, improves the financial stability of those we serve. Tax Help CEP provides low-wage workers with free, high quality tax preparation and an alternative to paid tax preparers. We serve families who make less than $50,000 and individuals who make less than $25,000. Based on these income guidelines, we can help one in three Illinois residents. Tax Clinic Through our tax clinic, we provide free, professional representation to low-wage taxpayers facing an IRS controversy. We also offer tax training for small businesses to establish sound business practices, build their knowledge of record keeping and self-employment tax laws. Financial Services We help promote financial education and sound money practices -- helping cut ties to predatory financial services. We provide year-round workshops and one-on-one financial coaching to help clients set financial goals; create a spending plan; access safe and affordable bank products like bank accounts and small dollar loans; and review and correct credit reports and improve credit scores. Our History The Center for Economic Progress was founded in 1990 by Michael OâConnor, a veteran public benefits lawyer. Formerly the Center for Law and Human Services, the agency first focused on helping homeless families and individuals access services.

The Center for Educational Improvement (CEI) identifies, shares, and applies 21st century innovations in learning to guide school leaders as they improve their schools. We advise principals, teachers, leadership teams, and districts on how to implement evidence-based best practices to “fast track” academic progress and close gaps between the latest research on student achievement and what is practiced in schools. CEI also collaborates with principal mentors to design, implement, evaluate, refine, and disseminate research with the principal in mind. As we build bridges to educational excellence, CEI teams with other researchers, private companies, and government agencies. Our research includes scanning the environment to curate and share information on the latest 21st century innovations in learning. We also design and conduct our own research studies to improve education. Our research in 2014 focuses on: (1) Adding rigor to classrooms to improve instructional leadership and make learning more exciting, alive, and relevant. This includes collaborating with engineers and others for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) improvements. (2)Using neuroscience research to accelerate learning (3) Leading schools to excellence in STEM (4) Promoting Heart Centered Education (our signature approach to social emotional learning focusing on compassion, courage, confidence, consciousness, and community) to equip students with the intellectual, personal, emotional, and social skills needed for success at school and throughout their lives

CEM provides testing services and assessment needs of both private and public sectors of education in the Philippines. It pioneered the development of locally-made educational tests designed to measure levels of academic proficiencies of Filipino students. Currently, it offers more than 60 tests that measure students' achievement, aptitude and career choices. CEM has a current network of two branches and 19 test centers nationwide. As of 2017, CEM has more than 700 member schools. As a complement to its testing services, CEM holds instructional and advisory programs for teachers, guidance counsellors, and school administrators. The programs are designed to augment a school's agenda for professional development. CEM welcomes your opinions, and encourage open discussion about its posts. The Center for Elder Law & Justice is a non-profit civil legal aid provider, serving older adults, people with disabilities and low income populations. We provide full legal representation to individuals in eight Western New York Counties We also operate a statewide Senior Legal Advice Helpline staffed by attorneys 1-844-481-0973, who can provide brief legal advice and referrals to any NYS older resident. In 2020 we directly served 10,416 people, provided community education to 5,171 people and educated 3,009 professionals. CELJ provides trustee services through the WNY Coalition Pooled Trust in several counties (along with project partners People Inc., and Key Bank) managing over 12 million in fiduciary assets. CELJ also acts as court-appointed legal guardian in cases of elder abuse, or where there is no suitable family member able to assist. Our mission is to use the legal system to improve the quality of life for our clients and to help them live independently and with dignity. The Center for Emergency Medical Education (CEME) is the educational division of Emergency Physician Partners (EMPP) and Emergency Medicine Physicians (EMP). CEME has sponsored 165 continuing medical education courses with total registrations exceeding 23,000 physicians and allied healthcare professionals. Areas of specific expertise include risk management and emergency medicine board preparation course. The Center for Emergency Medical Education (CEME) exists for the purpose of assisting physicians and other healthcare professionals in the maintenance of board certification, their commitment to lifelong learning and improved patient care through the development and delivery of high quality emergency medical education activities and initiatives.

The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) was established in 1992 as an international inter-governmental non-profit organization, accredited by the respective Arab and European Ministries of the Environment as well as the League of Arab States and the United Nations to conduct environmental and sustainable development studies and provide related services. CEDARE works best as a "force multiplier"​. Its mission is to provide leadership and advocate sound governance for environmental protection through building human resources and institutional capacity, advancing applied research and environmentally friendly technologies and acting as a catalyst to enhance collaborative action between the Arab World, Europe and the International Community.
