We bereiden onze gedistilleerde dranken al sinds 1888 met veel passie. Hero Jan en Grietje, de oprichters van Hooghoudt, zijn in 1888 begonnen met het op trek leggen van allerlei kruiden, vruchten, schillen van die vruchten, pitten en zaden in brandewijn. Ze blonken uit in zelfbedachte specialiteiten en typisch regionale drankjes. Hero Jan en Grietje maakten dranken die consumenten graag wilden drinken. Dranken die gewaardeerd worden om hun smaak en hun kwaliteit. Tegenwoordig is Hooghoudt volledig in handen van Bert Hooghoudt, vierde generatie eigenaar in de familie Hooghoudt. Zijn vader, Hero Jan Hooghoudt (1928), is nog wekelijks aanwezig in de distilleerderij. Hij heeft nog altijd enthousiaste plannen voor de toekomst. Wat kun je anders verwachten van iemand die een leven lang zijn ziel en al zijn liefde in het bedrijf legt? Tenslotte is dat hoe de rijke traditie van generatie op generatie wordt doorgegeven. We zijn bij Hooghoudt altijd ondernemend geweest. En zijn altijd met onze tijd meegegaan. In 1963 werd Jonge Dubbele Graanjenever met een heuse reclamecampagne op televisie in de markt gezet. Dat was in die tijd ongekend. Een distillateur die zijn dranken via de televisie aan de man brengt. Vandaag de dag zijn we nog net zo ondernemend én eigenzinnig als de afgelopen 125 jaar. We steken nog steeds veel energie in het maken van nieuwe dranken. In het proeven, combineren én proberen van nieuwe smaken. De smaak van Hooghoudt. Natuurlijk het lekkerst.
