Am 1. Oktober 1979 begannen 48 Studierende in Kooperation mit 32 Partnerunternehmen ihr Studium an der damaligen Berufsakademie Karlsruhe, zunächst in den Studiengängen Maschinenbau und Industrie. Heute sind an der DHBW Karlsruhe rund 3200 Studierende eingeschrieben. Sie ist eine von neun Standorten der Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, die sich 2009 aus den Berufsakademien nach dem Vorbild des US-amerikanischen State University Modells gebildet hat. Mit ihrem dualen Studienangebot erfüllt die DHBW Karlsruhe die Erfordernisse der TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe in optimaler Weise. Die enge Kooperation mit den Wirtschaftsunternehmen nimmt eine Schlüsselrolle in Bezug auf die Lehrinhalte und die Einrichtung von Studiengängen mit einem für die TechnologieRegion spezifischen Qualifikationsprofi der Absolventinnen und Absolventen an der DHBW Karlsruhe ein. Neben einer Vielzahl von klassischen Studienangeboten in den Fakultäten Wirtschaft und Technik zeichnet sie sich mit mehreren in Deutschland einzigartigen Studienangeboten aus.

Die Berufsakademie Mosbach, heute Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Mosbach, besteht seit 30 Jahren und hat in dieser Zeit mit dem konsequenten Auf- und Ausbau dualer Studiengänge eine beeindruckende Entwicklung vollzogen. Als im Sommer 1980 der Startschuss mit der Fachrichtung Industrie fiel, traten 18 Studierende ihr Studium an. Inzwischen bereiten sich mehr als 2700 junge Menschen in über 40 Studienangeboten aus den Bereichen Wirtschaft und Technik und unterstützt von über 1100 Partnerunternehmen erfolgreich auf ihr Berufsleben vor.

Die Duale Hochschule Schleswig-Holstein (DHSH) ist eine private staatlich anerkannte Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften in Trägerschaft der Wirtschaftsakademie Schleswig-Holstein. Sie bietet in Kiel, Lübeck und Flensburg duale Bachelorstudiengänge sowie ein berufsbegleitendes Masterstudium an und setzt die duale Studientradition der bereits 1974 gegründeten Berufsakademie fort. An der DHSH, die seit 2018 staatlich anerkannte Hochschule ist, lassen sich die Studiengänge Wirtschaftsinformatik (Bachelor of Science) und Betriebswirtschaftslehre (Bachelor of Arts) belegen. In der BWL sind zudem branchenspezifische Schwerpunkte wie u. a. Tourismus, Industrie oder Management im Gesundheitswesen möglich. Der berufsbegleitende Masterstudiengang Digital Business & Innovation (M. A.) bietet Know-how für die digitale Transformation der Arbeitswelt und die Entwicklung neuer Geschäftsfelder. Als unternehmerisch handelnde Hochschule setzt sich die DHSH in ihrer praxisverbundenen Forschung mit wirtschaftlichen Fragestellungen auseinander, die sich durch Anwendungsorientierung auszeichnen. Hierbei liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt in der Zusammenarbeit mit regionalen Partnern sowie mit langjährigen Kooperationspartnern insbesondere aus der baltisch-skandinavischen Region.
