DeafHear (formerly The National Association for the Deaf) is a Non Profit Voluntary Organisation, established in 1964. It provides support services to deaf and hard of hearing people and their families, and to professionals working with them. DeafHear campaigns and advocates for improved health and education services and better access to society for all deaf and hard of hearing people. Over 35,000 people avail of DeafHear services every year.

The Deakin Commerce Society (DCS) was established in 2002 as the Deakin Accounting and Finance Students Society (DAFSS) and in its short history has quickly developed a reputation as a professional and innovative society that is well recognized within the Deakin community and the Australian business landscape. The DCS is the premier commerce related student society and is also the largest academic society on the Deakin Burwood Campus. The society focuses on both the academic and social aspects of a student's university career and provides opportunities to its members which could not otherwise be possible. The DCS is committed to ensuring that members receive the best possible opportunities from their membership and it prides itself on offering something for everyone at Deakin Burwood.
