TEK Köy Elaktrikasyonu olarak görev yapmakta olan birimlerimiz 2706 sayılı yasa gereğince elektrik Dağıtım Müesseselerinin kurulmasından sonra 01/11/1982 tarihinde Belediyeler Elektrik Tahakkuk ve Tahsilat Birimlerine Devredildi. 1990 yılına kadar bu şekilde hizmet verilmiştir. 1990 yılı Temmuz ayında Elektrik Dağıtım Müessese Müdürlükleri lav edilerek TEK ELEKTRİK DAĞITIM MÜESSESE MÜDÜRLÜKLERİ oluşmuş ve bu şekilde 1994 yılına kadar devam etmiştir. 1994 yılında TEK, TEDAŞ ve TEAŞ olarak iki ayrı Anonim şirkete dönüştürülmüştür. Türkiye Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. nin Özelleştirme Yüksek Kurulunun 02/04/2004 tarih 2004/22 sayılı kararı ile Özelleştirme kapsamı ve programına alınması neticesinde; Özelleştirme İdaresi Başkanlığının 31/01/2005 tarih B.02.1.ÖİB.0.10.07/00-991 sayılı yazısı ile Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Batman, Mardin, Siirt ve Şırnak illerinden oluşan Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş.'nin kurulmasına karar verilmiştir. 01/03/2005 tarihinde Merkezi Diyarbakırda olmak üzere; Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. hizmete başlamıştır. Türkiye Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş.nin, DİCLE Elektrik Dağıtım ve Perakende Satış A.Ş.deki %100 oranındaki hissesinin devrine ilişkin Hisse Satış Sözleşmesi 28.06.2013 tarihinde imzalanarak Dicle Enerji Yatırım Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.ye devrolmuştur.
