SDU Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) was founded in 1972. IMADA has 12 professors, 90 researchers and staff, and 600 students. Everyday, we break new frontiers in algorithms, optimisation, analysis, data science and statistics. We collaborate with the best researchers and industry around the world. We strive towards establishing partnerships, creating impact and providing the best education in a field that has never been more relevant and important than today.

The University Department of Mathematics was established in April 2008, based on the Decision of establishment of the University Departments, which was passed by University of Rijekas Senate on 17 December 2007. The University Department of Mathematics along with the former employees of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has a tendency toward assembling others mathematicians University Constituents from University of Rijeka. Thereby, the first cycle study programme in mathematics and the second cycle study programme in mathematics and computer sciences become studies of the University of Rijeka which are organised and conducted by the University Department of Mathematics.

The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) is responsible for ensuring the States resources sector is developed and managed responsibly and sustainably for the benefit of all Western Australians. As the States regulator for extractive industries and dangerous goods, DMP is the lead agency in administering Western Australias multi-agency regulatory framework. DMP ensures the States safety, health and environmental standards are world best practice and consistent with relevant State and Commonwealth legislation, regulations and policies. It is also responsible for the collection of royalties and has a lead role in providing geoscientific information, which supports private investment in resources exploration and development. DMP's robust regulation, provision of geological data and innovative management of an equitable and secure titles system helps Western Australia continue to be an attractive destination for investment. This approach also supports the development of the resources sector, which underpins the Western Australias economy. DMP remains committed to educating the community about resource development and regulation in Western Australia.
