Damietta Furniture City ( DFC ) was established in 2016 with 5 billions Egyptian pounds authorized capital aiming to: • Develop the furniture sector to be a main contributor to promoting Egypt’s reputation globally, by maintaining means of quality and innovation. • Increase investments in Egypt, for the furniture sector attracts investors in the fields of furniture, complementary industries and feeding industries. For instance, sponge and foam, accessories, glue and paint and processed wood, etc… • Modernize industry methods to reach the highest industrial quality. • Raise the added value of the final product through development and innovation by fostering the design to be the main alluring component of the Egyptian products in the global market.

The idea of opening classes for some faculties of Mansoura university in Damietta came in to light when the number of Mansoura University students in Damietta increased .Then, the decisions to setup the branch colleges followed according to the regulations of the corresponding faculties. The College of Education began work in the academic year 1976-1977, the College of science and the College of commerce in the academic year 85-1986, The College of Specific Education, in 90-1991, The College of Applied Arts in 2004-2005 then Colleges of Agriculture, Arts and Physical Education in the academic year 2006-2007. In 2007, the presidential decree No. (276) was issued to set up a branch in Damietta. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Bassiouni Sweilem Vice President of Mansoura University for Education and Student Affairs oversaw the affairs of the branch until the Prime Minister issued the decree No. (141) on 17/1/2008, to appoint Prof. Bishri Abdel-Hamid as the first Vice President of Mansoura University for Damietta Branch affairs. Three Colleges - College of Applied Arts, College of Arts and College of Agriculture- are located in the same campus in Alasar district in Damietta. The other five Colleges - The College of Science , The College of Education , The College of Commerce , The College of Specific Education and the College of Physical Education- are scattered in various places in New Damietta City. In addition , there are the Branch’s Administration and Accommodation Admins for Students. In July 2012, Presidential Decree No. 19 of 2012 establishing Damietta University in New Damietta was issued.

DAMIR DOMA is a Milan based fashion brand founded in 2006. The Croatian-born designer grew up surrounded by toiles in his mother’s atelier in Germany and later studied fashion in Munich and Berlin, where he graduated in 2004. After gaining experience in the ateliers of Antwerp designers Raf Simons and Dirk Schönberger, he relocated to Paris. DAMIR DOMA launched the first menswear collection on the official schedule for the Spring Summer 2008 season, and three years later showed the first women’s prét-à-porter collection for Autumn Winter 2010. Having enjoyed considerable commercial success to date, the DAMIR DOMA collections can be found in leading luxury and avant-garde boutiques across the globe – including Dover Street Market, L’Eclaireur, Joyce, and Le Bon Marche. The DAMIR DOMA Paris boutique in the courtyard next to Comme des Garçons at 54 Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré was opened in late 2012. The designer’s work is harmoniously linked by a sense of uniform and an obsessive interplay between shadow and light, with designs that encapsulate a measured study of proportion and a juxtaposition of rough and refined textures. Questioning the modern wardrobe, garments offer multiple expressions of identity – contrasting elements of androgyny with dress codes across cultural and historical spheres.
