East Lake Fire Rescue is part of the Pinellas County, Florida EMS system. Pinellas County EMS is an integrated countywide system which provides first response ALS by fire departments coupled with a contracted county ambulance transport service, using a priority dispatch methodology. East Lake Fire Rescue is also part of an integrated automatic aid network with other fire departments in Pinellas County. This means that East Lake will respond as the closest appropriate unit to emergency incidents outside the District borders, and surrounding departments will do the same for the East Lake Fire District as needed. East Lake Fire Rescue also offers many community interactive services such as CPR instruction, certified child safety seat installation, blood pressure checks, home safety and pool inspections, fire safety programs with local schools and preschools as well as an annual "Safety Day" Open House. All three of its stations are also "Safe Place" havens for troubled teens.

For over 30 years East Lancashire Hospice has continuously provided a special way of caring to people coping with a life limiting illness throughout Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. A life limiting or life threatening illness can be very hard to come to terms with and that is why we are here. We provide specialist care, supportive care and end of life care for people and their families both at the hospice and at home. Here everyone is special, whether patients come to us or we go to them.

The East Lancashire Railway, sited in Lancashire, is one of the UK’s premier heritage railways and is a major driver of local tourism, focusing on history, hospitality and preservation. Originally opened in 1846 to link a newly industrialised Lancashire with the wider world, the railway represented the region’s beating heart, ferrying workers and goods throughout Britain and across the globe. Thanks to hard work and dedication of an initially small group of volunteers this legacy lives on today. Winding 12 miles through the beautiful Irwell Valley, from historic Heywood, through bustling Bury and on to rural Ramsbottom and beyond, the railway now employs over 60 people while remaining true to its roots with a standing army of over 750 volunteers who are vital to the day to day running of the line. The railway welcomes over 2000, 000 visitors a year and is constantly growing and developing. The East Lancashire Railway is always looking for new ways to introduce people to adventures in the Irwell Valley, and takes pride in its close relationships with local businesses and attractions. It has worked on several joint marketing initiatives aimed at increasing footfall across the board, as well as increasing interest in Lancashire’s fascinating heritage.
