Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a Charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Specialist Pre-Hospital Care Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics can be rushed to the scene of an incident with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care that is normally only found in the Hospital Emergency Department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed by air or land to the most appropriate hospital for their needs. With limited direct funding from the Government or National Lottery we rely solely upon the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives. The Air Ambulances aren't just helicopters; we believe that as the only dedicated Air Ambulance service in Essex and Hertfordshire it is vital that the service brings additional medical care and expertise to the scene.

Essex County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2018 Census estimate, the county's population was 799,767, making it the state's third-most populous county, an increase of 3.1% from the 2010 United States Census, when its population was enumerated at 783,969, in turn, a decrease of 1.2% (9,664 fewer residents) from the 793,633 enumerated in the 2000 census.
