Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research- (EIAR ) The Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research is one of the oldest and largest agricultural research institutes in Africa. EIAR was established in 1966 by proclamation. It was then called the Institute of Agricultural Research(IAR). In 1997 it was designated the Ethiopian Agricultural Research Organization( EARO ). At the moment, the institute is renamed the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research ( EIAR ). EIAR has made tremendous efforts to build the national capacity of doing agricultural research and produce and introduce improved technologies focusing on fostering agricultural growth and development in the country. Mission EIAR’s mission is to conduct research that will provide market-competitive agricultural technologies that will contribute to increased agricultural productivity and nutrition quality, sustainable food security, economic development, and conservation of the integrity of natural resources and the environment. Vision EIAR aspires to see improved livelihoods for all Ethiopians engaged in agriculture, agro-pastoralism, and pastoralism through market-competitive agricultural technologies. We prepare and import organic herbs, spices, legumes and exotic blends essential for the preparation of authentic Ethiopian food. We have delighted the palettes of Bay area residents (San Francisco) since 1991 via our sister restaurant Café Colucci. Ethiopian food is unique, secretive, healing and deliciously good for you. We prepare our spices from shade grown, organic herbs and spices, sun dried and carefully blended using century old traditions. Ethiopians believes that food is sacred and healing and thus must be prepared with outmost care and respect. Tradition has it, one must eat with the right hand, must not be interrupted while eating, must be seated until the food tray is taken away, must wash hands before and after meals and must praise god before a meal. The Ethiopian kitchen is also mindful of religious rules in preparing meats and that food must always be shared with the less fortunate. Brundo provides the most authentic spices and herbs as well as prepared food such as seasoned clarified butter, dried injera and meats. We have also carefully compiled various recipes. Legend has it that Nigist Saba of Ethiopia (the Queen of Sheba) enticed King Solomon of Israel by bringing gifts of tantalizing secret spices and incense during her famous visit to Israel. Their romantic union produced a son, an heir to her dynasty, King Menelik I of Ethiopia. The secret of Ethiopian cooking has journeyed to far lands for centuries and that journey has now arrived here, for you to experience Ethiopian's ancient palette in your own kitchen.

Tourism Ethiopia is hereby established; it shall have the powers and duties to: Promote the country's tourism resources and attractions domestically and abroad by organizing and coordinating tourism marketing initiatives of the various stakeholders; Establish and administer tourism fund to carry out its mandates; Design and implement a strategy to ensure that the country's tourist attractions are identified, properly developed and organized; set up, coordinate and direct gateways in-country tourism attractions and facilities information centers; Improve conditions and work towards the fulfillment of preconditions of the nation's tourist attractions for recognition as international heritages; Originate and put into effect tourism attraction, product and service brands and update them timely Identify, collect, analyze, organize and communicate data and study types suitable for conducting marketing operations; Set tourist service provider institution standards and supervise same; Ensure that tourist services are expanded and that local communities share the benefits derived from tourism; Facilitate the addressing of training needs by assessing tourism development and marketing service gap; Establish collaboration and partnership with various actors in the tourism sector; Conduct studies and research to ensure the growth of the tourism sector; implement the same when it is approved by the relevant organ; Identify existing and new tourist destinations development gaps and facilitate their development, and promote the participation of the private sector in the development of the same;
