EcoCabins are sustainable, transportable small houses from 25m2 to 50m2 (tiny houses), intended for the recreational market and as temporary housing. All EcoCabins have a very high insulation value, are produced with possibly sustainable and/or natural materials and have an infrared underfloor heating system, a heat airpump water heater and a roof filled with solar panels. High comfort with a modern design. The company aims to continuously apply innovation and improvements in the field of sustainability and circularity, through collaboration with our partners and researchers from Technical Universities, with the ultimate goal of making the European residential and recreational market with the lowest footprint.

McMaster University is proud to be participating in the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge; North Americas premier collegiate-level automotive engineering competition. EcoCAR is the latest in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC) series. AVTCs represent a unique collaboration of government, industry, and academic partners who combine resources to explore sustainable transportation solutions. EcoCAR is challenging teams from 12 North American universities to re-engineer a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer to incorporate advanced propulsion systems, electrification, and connected and automated vehicle technology that will improve the energy efficiency, safety and consumer appeal of vehicles, specifically for the car sharing market. McMaster Engineering EcoCAR Team hopes to build upon McMaster Universitys reputation as an outstanding technical school and academic leader in the development of sustainable advanced vehicle technology. By working closely with the McMaster Institute for Automotive Research and Technology (MacAUTO) and the McMaster Centre for Software Certification (McSCert), the McMaster team is looking to establish McMaster University as a major competitor in EcoCAR and in AVTCs to come. The McMaster Engineering EcoCAR Team is excited to participate in the first year of this four year long competition. This year, the McMaster Engineering EcoCAR team has added new team members that are prepared to face new challenges with this brand-new competition and create a unique hybrid vehicle while pushing the bounds of connected and automated driving. The team is always hard at work creating innovative solutions for complex problems.

The Ecocem Materials Ltd holding controls productionfacilities in Ireland, France (2x) and The Netherlands. In Moerdijk (NL) Ecocem Benelux grinds granulated blast furnace slag into a sustainable binder (eco₂cem). Moreover, Ecocem Benelux markets their own innovation in screed; eco₂floor. ECOCEM France produit du laitier moulu de haut-fourneau à hautes performances techniques qui permet notamment de fabriquer du béton bas carbone. En effet, en proposant de remplacer une part du ciment inclus dans le béton, nous permettons de réduire drastiquement l’empreinte carbone du béton. De plus, notre activité s’inscrit dans l’économie circulaire en utilisant comme matière première un co-produit de l’industrie sidérurgique. Il existe aujourd’hui trois filiales d’Ecocem en Europe : Ecocem France, Ecocem Irlande, Ecocem Benelux et des terminaux de stockage au Royaume-Uni et en Suède. Le groupe possède une capacité de production annuelle de 2,5Mt et emploie 127 personnes. En France, ECOCEM forme une joint-venture avec ArcelorMittal détenue à 49% par le sidérurgiste.
