EPI is an international organization dedicated to the study of educational opportunity. EPI is a collective association of researchers and policy analysts from around the world dedicated to the mission of enhancing our knowledge of critical barriers facing students and families throughout the educational pipeline. In addition, EPI has developed extensive partnerships and collaborative arrangements with other leading research and educational organizations, further supporting our mission and ability to conduct policy-relevant research for practical use. The Educational Policy Institute was formed in 2002 by Dr. Watson Scott Swail, an internationally-known researcher and current president of the organization. Dr. Swail started EPI to fulfill a need for more rigorous educational research and to create better linkages between research and public policy. Much of the focus of our work is on the perspective of individuals from low-income backgrounds, who are of color, and who have physical and cognitive disabilities. This is because these constituents have the least voice in public policy discussions. As well, because public policy does often target these populations in programs, there is a great need for better research to determine what strategies are most effective in helping lift youth to a better tomorrow.

MISSION At the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio, our mission is to serve the needs of the students and educational community by: Supporting, collaborating, and partnering with local, regional, state, and national agencies and; Providing quality leadership, products, programs, and professional services. The Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio provides individualized support for area school districts through city/county services; fiscal management; contract services; direct program services; consortium and cooperatives; and interagency programs across many fields of education. While the ESC of Northeast Ohio provides services to any district in need, the following 47 school districts, located throughout five counties, are our current member districts:

Educational Service District 123, based in Pasco, WA, is one of nine ESDs in Washington. Dedicated to delivering collaborative solutions that promote learning, ESD 123 serves 23 school districts in seven counties of Southeastern Washington. Under Superintendent Darcy Weisner and its board of directors, this legislatively mandated, not-for-profit educational organization provides efficiency of educational systems and equity of learning opportunities for over 73,000 Washington students.
