The Ellie Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that fights breast cancer and eases its effects on patients and families by providing transportation to medical appointments, childcare, housekeeping, groceries, and nutritious prepared/delivered meals free of charge to hundreds of women and family members across Massachusetts each year. Our support services are offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of our volunteers, friends, donors and sponsors. All of our services are provided by caring, licensed professionals. Our History: The Ellie Fund was founded by brothers Jeff and Eliot Popkin in 1995 to honor their mother’s courageous nine year fight for hope and her giving spirit that touched everyone she knew throughout her life. A Newton, Massachusetts resident for more than thirty years, Ellie volunteered at the local library and visited children with terminal illnesses at Childrens Hospital, was a Den Mother for the local Boy Scouts of America, an active member of Hadassah, and a beloved pre-school teacher. When we developed the Ellie Kai concept, the idea of a direct-to-consumer, on-demand manufacturing model in the women’s apparel space didn’t really exist. So we created one. Through our network of Style Consultants, retail locations and ecommerce site, our customers are able to shop highly curated collections, while adding customized details to make each piece their own. As a result of our innovative production model, we are able to deliver all made-to-order pieces direct to our customers in just 3 weeks.
