Enactus is an international non-profit organisation that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a real difference in their communities while developing the skills to become responsible business leaders. Enactus Ireland works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. Participating students form teams on their campus and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. An annual series of national competitions provides a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup. In addition to the community focus of the program, Enactus’s leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the participants as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent. Founded in 2011, as SIFE Ireland, is one of 39 countries around the world that operates a Enactus programme. The Enactus operation currently includes eight active universities; Dublin City University, Dublin Institute of Technology, Maynooth University, NUI Galway, Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick, University College Cork and University College Dublin, and has more than 300 student participants.

Our 4 current projects are: Prereq, a refugee/student mentoring program seeking a better integration of Syrian refugees in the workforce upon arriving to Montreal. Material Waste aiming to recycle clothing and industrial waste through handcrafted artistic creations by disabled communities. Plastic Waste, a project seeking to reduce plastic waste in Dominican Republic.

Enactus é uma ONG internacional, presente em mais de 36 países, que desenvolve projetos voltados para o empreendedorismo social em comunidades vulneráveis de Uberlândia. Atualmente temos 1 projeto na Enactus UFU, que é: 1. Bread&Bug: do inglês, pão e inseto, consiste na criação de insetos pra ser usado como insumo animal. Mas por que inseto? Porque insetos possuem muita proteína, muito mais do que qualquer carne de animal. Além de ser muito mais sustentável a sua criação. Estamos ensinando a uma comunidade como criar os insetos para venda, para que possam aumentar a renda e garantir uma vida melhor.
