FRILO was founded in 1978 by Jens Friedrich and Norbert Lochner. The actual company name "Friedrich + Lochner" soon developed into the abbreviation "FRILO". When FRILO was integrated into the Nemetschek Group as an independent brand in 1999, the two founders set the course for a successful future. Since 2019, Markus Gallenberger has been at the helm of the company as CEO. Under his leadership, DC-Software was acquired in order to expand the portfolio in foundation engineering. In addition, FRILO, SCIA and DC-Software were merged into the Nemetschek Engineering.
